Rick repoted that Mike was out grooming this morning and that the trails are very good. Hopefully it won't get too warm over the next couple of days. Denise Skarra was skating and said the conditions were good. The road up has been sanded and is in good shape.

Once again Mike was out grooming this morning so the trails are in excellent condition. Good job Mike. The temperature was -6 at the parking lot. The temperature at Bull Mountain is generally the same as at the airport. Thanks to whom ever it is that is passing along conditoins on the local radio.

Message passed to me by Rick Nelson who was out this morning. Mike was out grooming this morning and the trails are in excellent shape. Rick encountered Mike on the trails and Mike said he would continue to groom as long as conditions are favourable. If the temperature remains below freezing the trails should be good for the weekend. Since we have not had snow recently the road up is excellent.

There is a very strong inversion at Bull Mountain. At 11:00 am the temperature at the warming hut was a chilly -14. The temperatures rise steady as you gain elevation on the trails. New tracks have been set below Winchester this morning and above Winchester late Saturday so there is new snow in the track above Winchster although it has been skied in. Conditions were cold (-15 at 1:00pm) with a bit of a wind chill in the open. Grip is good with a -4 to -7 wax but it is hard to get a good glide in the very cold snow. The difficult glide will also affect the skaters.

Temperatures were a bit above zero at the warming hut so the new 2 to 4cm of snow that fell yesterday afternoon was very warm and wet. The strong winds over the past couple of days have left the the trails littered with debris. In places a lot of this debris has settled into the classic track. This has made it very difficult to do classic skiing especially if you are using soft waxed skis. The grip will be inconsistent and you will pick up a lot of debris in the wax. Tracks were re-set overnight and Classic and Skate ski conditions are very good. At 12:30 pm the temperature at the warming hut was -8 C. A -4 to -7 wax provided good grip. The down hill was a bit abrasive so the kick wax was wearing thin. Try a binder under 5 to 6 layers of the wax for the day. With the cool temperatures today conditions should remain very good for tomorrow. Stay safe

Prior to noon today conditions were still good. The milder weather has caused icer conditions. Since there has been no new snow Mike has not been able to reset the track so the classic track has accumulated some fir needles. A warm wax (-1 to -4) still worked so klister was not needed. Because of the litter on the trail you may wish to skate ski. Watch out for a few soft spots on the S bends.

Conditions now are excellent for both skating & classic. Most trails groomed except Canyon View and the 12km outer loop (Gun-a-Noot). Sun is beautiful today but it's cold enough up there that the snow won't melt at all. The parking lot is cleared and the road up is ploughed and sanded, no problem for 2-wheel drive.

The trails were still in great condition for both skating and classic this morning. We left at around 12:30 and the temperature was around -6 at the parking lot. The conditions at Bull Mountain are often quite different than in Williams Lake. We are at a higher elevation and on a north slope at Bull mountain so it is generally cooler there. Mike was out grooming again and now both Canyon View and Gunanoot have both been groomed. The trails are in great shape. Great conditions today. The main trails, except for Canyon View and Gunanoot, were groomed today. When we left at about 3:00 the temperature at the warming hut was about -5. It may have warmed up a little since then. The road up was plowed sanded. What a great day to be skiing.

There was a good crowd out this morning enjoying the freshly goomed trails. Most of the trails were groomed and in excellent shape for classic, but because of the new snow they were a little soft for skating. The road up wasn't plowed but it wasn't too bad. Once again I would like to remind people skiing with their dogs to make sure they stay on the designated dog trails.

We had approximately 10 cm of snow in the last 24 hours. However Mike was out grooming at around 10:30 and the trails he had done were in excellent shape. The road up had not been plowed at 11:30 this morning but it didn't seem too bad. The skiing is great and should continue like that for a while if the weather forcast is accurate. Despite the very cold temperatures in Williams Lake this morning it was quite nice at Bull Mountain this afternoon.The external temperature in my car was -7. The trails have been groomed and vary from fair to excellent. Basically in all the areas that do not get too much sun the trails are excellent. In areas that get a lot of sun like the stadium and BX Stageline and on some of the exposed hills the trails are a little rough. The Piston Bully has not yet been repaired so therefore the trails have not have been groomed. However it is still worth going skiing. Pretty well all of the trails have been skied on several times so its not too difficult to get around. Its not as good of course as when the trails have been groomed, but the fresh air and the setting still make it worthwhile.

As of this afternoon, the Piston Bully was still down apparently for repairs so the track setter has not been on the trails since just before last weekend. However there are good tracks from the many skier who have been up and the snow conditions are great ("silky"). So classic skiing is still a good but not so fast as in a set track. It may also a little harder to control descent on the S-bends

Mike groomed again today and the trails are considerably softer now than they were on the weekend. They are now in good shape for both classic and skating. We skied from 1:30 to 3:00 and it was not too cool as the temperature had risen to the low teens.

There were people out skiing this morning. With the fresh snow and the cooler temperatures Mike will be out grooming and the trails should be good. The road has been plowed and is in good shape. Sunday between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm The Bull Mountain Blast will be taking place. Recreational skiers may still ski but it is recommended that you not bring your dog as the trails will be very busy.

The temperature did fall sufficiently last night for Mike to groom. The trails were very good this morning with most of the main trails groomed. Hopefully the weather will remain cool now that we have plenty of snow.

Mike was out yesterday (Thursday) afternoon and evening grooming. He groomed most of the trails including Gunanoot. It was too warm to groom today but he will be out early tomorrow if the weather cools sufficiently.

At 11:00 this morning no grooming had taken place. Hopefully the temperature will fall far enough so that the trails can be groomed for the weekend. The weather forcast does not look good. People were skiing this morning so trails have been broken through the new snow.

Mike was out grooming today and most of the trails are in great shape. Canyon View has been groomed and with the exception of a couple of spots where the track is a little soft the sking was great. The severe downhills are in good shape. The road up and the parking lot are still in good shape.

With a little melting yesterday, no grooming today and no new snow the trailsare a little icy. The temperature was about -8 at around 10:00. Unless you are very competent you should approach the "S" curves with great deal of caution. You might be better off to take the bypass. The road up to the parking lot is very good.

The trails were groomed again today and in very good condition. The road up to the parking lot has been plowed and sanded and the parking lot has been plowed. The temperatures are very strange as it is considerably colder in Williams Lake than at Bull Mountain. We skied today from 2:15 to 3:30. The temperature was around -15 and most of the trails including Gunanoot were groomed and in excellent condition for both classic and skating. Great job Mike. The road up to the parking lot had been plowed and sanded and the parking lot was also plowed. As well the lights are now working. You have no excuse for not going skiing.

Just got back from a ski, it was -22, a little cold. Road and parking lot are plowed, everything is tracked but Canyon View. I used green wax, still a little sticky, but good.

We went up to Bull Mountain at around 1:30 today to check out the trails and maybe do a little skiing. No one else had been up ahead of us. There was approximately 15 cm of fresh snow on road, 2o cm in the parking lot and on the trails. In light of the fact that it was -20 I soppose we shouldn't have been too surprised. Hopefully it will warm up and conditions will be better for the weekend.

The lights are now serviceable. An electrical contractor was there today; and did his best with climbing spurs and a come-along. The bracket on pole #65 needs an additional bolt; however, a bucket truck will be required for that work next summer. He assured us the wires will hold as is until then.

We skied today at around 1:30. The trails had been groomed sometime earlier in the day as there was about 2 to 3 cm of fresh snow on the trails. Good news, the Piston Bully is running again. Most of the trails with the execption of Canyon View and Gunanoot have been groomed and are in very good condition. The centre of the trails is hardening up nicely and you probably should be able to skate now.

There was approximately 10 to 15 cm of new snow on the trails when we skied at 1:00 pm today. It was snowing steadily all the time we skied and when we were leaving. Conditions for classic skiing are good - level and gently sloping trails are very enjoyable in the tracks set with the snowmobile this week. Downhills can be challenging with multiple classic tracks and no skating track to use to control speed. The little dusting of snow we got this week helped a bit but there is still not sufficient snow for Mike to use the piston bully to set better track.

Mike set new classic track with the snowmobile this morning - up Spur, across BX Stage Line and back across Winchester, around Cataline and back across Anvil and down. Mike was out this morning with the snow mobile dragging a screen about 5 ft wide to level and soften the trails. As well he was setting a new track. The road up has been plowed and is in good winter condition. Clive Granger said he would have the lights working before he left today. The trails are quite good considering that no grooming has taken place. The "S" curves have become quite fast and are quite uneven. Unless you are a competent skier you should probably avoid them.

The temperature at the warming hut said zero. I think you have to add 2 or 3 degrees to the reading on the thermometer to get an accurate reading because it was melting while we were skiing. Also the thermometer by the warming hut always reads colder than the car theremomerers. The trails are still okay but getting your wax right will be the hard part. As a result of the recent snowfall (about 10-15 cm) and lack of bright sun, all trails are now snowcovered. Mike has done an excellent job of grooming enough of them to make it well worth a ski. The snow is soft and warm so can be pretty sticky.

The trail lights are working again. After some research, the source of the outage was traced to BC Hydro's lines on Bull Mtn Road.
